Teasers
A teaser is a parlay variant where you move the spread or total in your favor by a fixed number of points across multiple legs. Better odds of winning, but lower payouts than a straight parlay.
What is a teaser?
A teaser is like a parlay; you combine multiple bets and all must win; but with a twist: you move each spread or total in your favor by a fixed number of points.
Standard NFL teasers
- 6-point teaser; adjust each leg by 6 points.
- 6.5-point teaser; adjust by 6.5.
- 7-point teaser; adjust by 7.
NBA teasers (typically smaller adjustments)
- 4-point and 4.5-point teasers.
Trade-off
Moving the line in your favor reduces variance. But the price is steep; a 2-team 6-pt NFL teaser typically pays around -110 (almost even money). You win less than a straight parlay would.
Wong teasers
A famous strategy from gambler Stanford Wong: target NFL teasers that cross key numbers (3 and 7); for example, moving a +1.5 to +7.5 or a -7.5 to -1.5. Historically profitable but well-known by books now.
