The Arizona Department of Gaming announced on August 3, 2026 that it has awarded a new event wagering operator license to Circa Sports Arizona LLC, following the June-July application window. Circa was the only applicant during that window, according to reporting on the announcement, and will enter the Arizona market via a market-access partnership with the San Juan Southern Paiute Tribe.
Arizona will be Circa’s seventh live state.
Deal structure
Circa Sports Arizona LLC secured its foothold through the tribal-license side of Arizona’s licensing framework. Under the state’s 2021 enabling legislation, up to 10 event wagering operator licenses are reserved for Arizona tribes and 10 for Arizona sports franchises. The San Juan Southern Paiute Tribe’s slot brings a new tribal partner into the operator pool — the tribe has not previously been aligned with any AZ sportsbook.

Jeffrey Benson, Director of Operations at Circa Sports, told trade press that the operator is targeting an early 2027 launch and will work closely with the ADG on the path to going live.

Circa Sports is currently live in six states, with a reputation built on high-limit betting, transparent pricing, and a focus on serious bettors:

- Missouri (launched December 1, 2025)
Arizona will make seven, positioning Circa as one of the more geographically consistent multi-state operators outside the FanDuel/DraftKings/BetMGM tier.

- Bonus terms. Circa’s welcome offer historically has been more understated than mass-market books — expect an announcement closer to launch.
- App integration with existing Circa accounts. Circa Sports has a unified app for its existing states — AZ integration mechanics for cross-state account holders will be worth watching.
- Impact on market dynamics. Circa’s arrival typically pressures other books’ limits and pricing on high-stakes markets. Whether that ripples through to AZ line quality is one of the more interesting downstream questions.
